My 18-year-old daughter has taken up baking with a ferocious passion during the lockdown. Salted caramel chocolate cake. 100% from scratch. I   fatten.

First world problems, I dont feel special anymore. I never went to restaurants with any sort of regularity before the virus. I would go months without eating out someplace. Only time I really ever dont cook is when Im on vacation and want to explore the local cuisine. But now everybody is being a stay at home chef just like me!

I can believe that. Clothes that used to be quite loose on me are, um, not. I really need to get out for a walk, or perhaps fix up that bicycle that’s been sitting in the basement for years. Then again, given my history and my current lack of medical insurance I should probably stick to walking.

I’ve been trying to behave myself (relatively) on Monday-Thursday. But by Friday temptation creeps up, and I indulge for much of the weekend. I have a slim fit shirt I haven’t worn since before the crisis that I am a little scared to try on today.

Given some of the stuff on the road, a bicycle would be risky even with insurance. Drivers definitely seem dumber, locally anyway. I’ve been jogging weekdays lately in an attempt at exercise , and the shit I see is amusing.

ha - it wasn’t 10 minutes ago that my wife and I were blaming each other for not buying cake at the grocery, (jokingly..)    For the record I prefer the white with sprinkles....
